CSKA Moscow v Manchester United Betting Tips – 27th September 2017

Manchester United head to Moscow on Wednesday and their fans will certainly have fond memories of the city. They won their second European crown at the Luzhniki Stadium in the Russian capital when they beat Chelsea on penalties and they will be hoping that this visit is similarly successful.

The Red devils were in sparkling form on Matchday One as they put FC Basel to the sword and that result will certainly have made CSKA Moscow nervous. Jose Mourinho has got his side playing some great stuff this season and they are also top of the league and a win in Russia would help keep that momentum going.

The home side haven’t beaten United in any of the four meetings between the two sides yet they head into the match in decent form. They were a coupon buster in the first round of fixtures as they won away at Benfica. They are clearly no mugs but we would be surprised if they have enough about them to overcome Manchester United. Mourinho’s men have more than enough quality to get a positive result, but which bets will help you turn a decent profit?

Betting Predictions

  • Manchester United to win - Trips to Russia are never easy assignments and CSKA will be a tough nut to crack in front of their own fans. However, Jose Mourinho’s side should have enough about them to see off the challenge of the army side. United have been in great form so far this season and when they get going, they certainly take some stopping. You can get an away win at 8/11with Betfair.
  • Under 2.5 goals - Manchester United have met CSKA Moscow four times in their history and three of the four meetings have ended in fewer than 2.5 goals. They were drawn with CSKA in the 2015 Champions League and David Moyes’ side drew 1-1 and 1-0 in their two clashes with the Russians. We can’t see this one ending with a glut of goals and you can get under 2.5 goals at 4/5 with Betfair.
  • Manchester United to keep a clean sheet - Jose Mourinho is certainly a canny operator and he will go to Moscow with the main aim of not losing. United are a good defensive outfit on their day and they have been solid so far this season. Two of their four meetings with CSKA have seen United keep a clean sheet and we reckon it will be a quiet night for David de Gea on Wednesday. A clean sheet for the visitors in this one comes in at 23/20 with BetVictor.
  • Draw/Manchester United Half time/Full time - CSKA are no pushovers and it may well take United a while to grind them down. We reckon that United will nick this one by the odd goal and you can back it to be level at half time with United winning by the end at 7/2 with Betfair.
